TWINSTAR
World’s first WRGB lighting developed

TWINSTAR, Leading the innovation in aquarium lighting.

1.World’s first WRGB lighting developed.

In 2015, TWINSTAR developed the world’s first WRGB LED lighting for aquariums using Red, Blue, Green, and White LEDs. This lighting replaces conventional T5 and White LED aquarium lighting, providing a spectrum with wavelengths necessary for plant growth, allowing aquatic plants to grow healthily and with a wider range of colors

 2. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Generation WRGB TWINSTAR LIGHT.

With advancements in LED technology, TWINSTAR has upgraded its models from the 1st to the 3rd generation. The light output has continuously increased, and light efficiency has also improved. Enhanced performance of RGB LEDs and spectrum optimization have resulted in more vibrant lighting colors.

3. 4G TWINSTAR Spectrum: Higher PPFD Value with Six Type of Color LEDs.

In 2024 summer, TWINSTAR released the 4th generation lighting, which creates a spectrum using only six types of color LEDs. Compared to the previous WRGB aquarium lighting, three additional color LEDs have been added to replace the white LED.

Only RGB LED lighting, composed of three colors (red, green, and blue), lacks the diverse wavelengths needed for plant growth, leading to issues. To address this and ensure sufficient light intensity, white LEDs are necessary, which is why WRGB light sources are used. However, WRGB lighting can struggle to achieve the vivid color representation of RGB LEDs due to the addition of white LEDs..

The 4th generation TWINSTAR lighting combines the advantages of WRGB light sources optimized for aquatic plant growth with the vivid color expression of pure RGB lighting. Using six types of pure color LEDs, it delivers the vibrant colors of aquatic plants and tropical fish while providing essential light energy for plant growth, maximizing efficiency.

This spectrum achieves high PPFD (Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density) values, promoting photosynthesis and healthy plant growth. This innovative lighting technology enhances plant growth rates and the natural coloration of aquatic plants and tropical fish.

This new approach is like giving plants a custom-made nutrient supplement. By providing exactly what they need for growth, it helps plants grow better and become healthier. The 4th generation TWINSTAR lighting offers an innovative solution for both plant growth and beauty.

TWINSTAR SPECTRUM
FOR AQUARIUM

The Importance of Lighting in Aquariums.

Aquarium lighting is crucial for plant growth and enhancing the colors of tropical fish. Good lighting helps plants grow and makes tropical fish look beautiful, making the aquarium hobby more enjoyable.

The Role of Spectrum.

Even with the same RGB light source, the light color, spectrum wavelength, and brightness can vary greatly depending on how the light is designed. Therefore, expert experience and design skills are essential. A good spectrum promotes photosynthesis and helps plants grow, but a bad spectrum can stress plants, slow their growth, or even kill them. Lighting color is greatly affected by the spectrum as well. Spectrum is the most important factor in aquarium light design.

TWINSTAR Lighting Designed by Experts with Over 10 Years of Experience.

All lighting is designed and rigorously tested by lighting and plant experts with over 10 years of experience. Under this lighting, all plants grow healthily and beautifully, and the beauty of tropical fish is enhanced. Create the perfect planted aquarium environment with TWINSTAR.

Requirements for
Good Aquarium Light

Good aquarium lighting is essential for enjoying and maintaining a healthy aquarium ecosystem. Understanding the basics of lighting usage and selecting the right lighting is key to a successful aquarium.

1. Lighting Spectrum

The spectrum is the most important factor when choosing aquarium lighting. A poorly designed spectrum can promote algae growth, making maintenance difficult and potentially disrupting the ecosystem

2. High PPFD Value (PPFD Value)

PPFD (Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density) is a method of measuring how much light reaches plants. Light is crucial for plant growth and photosynthesis. PPFD represents the amount of usable light available to plants in numerical form. The higher the PPFD value, the more light the plants receive.

3. Brightness

Plants need a minimum level of brightness for photosynthesis. If the brightness is low, they won’t get enough energy and their growth will be hindered. On the other hand, too much bright light can cause “burnout,” stressing the plants and slowing their growth. This is especially a problem for young plants, which can quickly deteriorate and die with too much light. Proper light management is key, especially in the early stages. TWINSTAR products includes lighting controllers to help you manage brightness levels. Use the controller to easily adjust the brightness for your aquarium

4. Burnout Phenomenon

  • Leaf Damage : Excessive light can burn the leaves of plants, causing them to turn brown. The leaf tips become dry and turn brown or black, eventually leading to the plant’s death.

  • Photosynthesis Impairment : Too much light destroys the enzymes and pigments necessary for photosynthesis. This reduces the plant’s ability to photosynthesize, slowing its growth.

  • Physical Stress : When the light is too strong, plants experience stress, preventing them from properly rooting and halting their growth. This deteriorates the plant’s overall health and can impact their long term survival.

5. Lighting time

It is generally recommended to keep the lights on for 8 hours a day. Plants need both growth and rest periods, and too much light can cause light stress, hindering their growth. Additionally, extended lighting periods can lead to algae growth.

6. Design and Quality

The design of the lighting significantly impacts the overall appeal of the aquarium. Good design with premium materials makes the aquarium look more beautiful and modern. Additionally, it influences the interior decor of your home

7. Buget

The cost of lighting can vary greatly depending on its performance and features. It is important to set a budget and choose a lighting system that meets your needs without overspending. TWINSTAR offers products at various price for your budgets
